Reeva Chaudary is seen as Rasili in Ramsay’s Bandh Darwaze Ke Peeche, which is currently streaming on ALTT. She said the shooting experience was quite nice and not as scary as it is on-screen.

“It looks scarier on screen with the music and effects, but during shooting, it wasn’t that frightening. We shot mostly at night, so to prepare for the role, I adjusted my schedule by sleeping during the day to stay awake at night. That was the main preparation I needed to do for the role,” she said.

And as an actor, she was comfortable shooting all the scenes, and nothing was too challenging for her. She said, “There wasn’t a particularly difficult scene for me because I’ve done a lot of workshops with Atul Mongia and have theatre experience in Calcutta. Plus, Aryaman Sir made everything so comfortable and friendly, like a family, that the entire process went smoothly. There was no scene I found too challenging.”

Reeva also stressed that just the mere presence of the Ramsay brothers makes the show stand apart from others. “Ramsay’s Bandh Darwaze Ke Peeche is unique because it’s made by the Ramsay Brothers—Aryaman Sir and Sagar Sir. They are like the Yash Raj of horror; no one does horror better than them. That’s what sets this show apart from other horror projects.”

She was happy that she got the opportunity to wear Indian outfits for the series, and said, “I rarely get to wear traditional Indian attire, as most of my roles are in western outfits. In this series, my character wore a full Indian outfit with a bindi, bangles, and a ghagra choli, which I really loved. It allowed me to do something different this time, which was great.”

She also credited the streaming platform, ALTT, for giving and creating more opportunities for actors. “Earlier, it was mostly TV series and movies, so chances were limited. Now, with so many web series being produced, actors are getting more work. ALTT is one of the best platforms, and Ramsay’s Bandh Darwaze Ke Peeche was my first show with them. Growing up, I watched their films, and they really know how to create the perfect eerie atmosphere. Thanks to the makers, I get to explore horror content on camera.”

Aarya also shares, “People might assume that just because it’s by the Ramsay Brothers, it’s going to be a typical horror project. But this show has a very fresh take, and I think audiences are going to love it. Hopefully, it will become a cult horror classic, maybe even signaling the comeback of the horror genre.”

When asked about his preparation for the role, Aarya says, “Preparing for a horror film is very different from other genres. You have to mentally prepare yourself to be in dark, creepy places for long hours. For Ramsay’s Bandh Darwaze Ke Peeche, I worked on my expressions and reactions because, in horror, it’s all about how you convey fear and suspense to the audience. Actor Manuraj, who plays the role of Prakash, aka Pakya in Yash Patnaik and Mamta Patnaik’s web series Aukaat Se Jyada, streaming on the YouTube channel Freshh Mint, says that he has been getting a great response. The actor adds that he has surprised his audience by taking on this role, and they are loving it.

“The audience has loved my role, and many of my friends have personally texted me, asking when the next episode will be released. I've never received as much love as I have for this show,” he says.

He adds, “The viewers were surprised to see me play this type of character, as it's my first time playing such a role. They couldn't believe I could pull it off, but I'm glad they loved it! I'm glad to be part of Aukaat Se Zyaada. I hope the next series starts shooting soon!”

Ask him how he felt when he was approached for the role, and he says, “Initially, I was replaced from the character, but two days later, I was selected again! I think God made this character for me (just kidding!). But seriously, I loved playing Pakya. If Adarsh is the hero, Pakya is the pillar of the series. Aukaat Se Zyaada has a different and unique storyline, set in a college, which resonates with youth.”

Pallav Singgh: Milestone of ‘Mirzapur 3’ is behind me now

Mirzapur 3’ has put him in the spotlight for his performance in the show as Shayar Raheem but actor Pallav Singgh already seems to have moved on, and is focusing on what’s next on his plate.

The actor has an interesting philosophy behind this. While he enjoyed the attention and appreciation, he now feels it’s time to empty himself and move on to the next character so that he makes the next one as memorable as Shayar Raheem.

Pallav spoke with IANS and shared that he has been involved with acting since his school. In college, he and his group used to study engineering in the day and turn artists from the evening till late at nights.

He told IANS, “We used to lie down on the slanting roofs of our college building, read plays under the starlit sky, rehearsed for weeks, and put up the show like its life and death. This thrill of putting everything on the line was so good that the academics could not surpass that thrill”.

The actor shared how he once received a standing ovation for one of his performances, and he couldn’t sleep that night as the appreciation triggered something in him.

He further mentioned, “The next day, even with the sleep deprivation, I was so happy that “I matter “in this crowd. And so even after engineering, while in a job with Amazon India, I used to work overtime, accumulate my leaves and go and perform in Theatre. Acting, I realised, is my love and no love can go on part-time. Hence, I jumped off the cliff fully into acting and cinema”.

The actor’s phone has been constantly buzzing since ‘Mirzapur 3’, leading to a pleasant problem of his battery draining faster. He told IANS, “I wish it gets discharged even faster (laughs). The past few weeks have been superlative in terms of talking to people about the experiences of Mirzapur 3 and about my personal ones. Have received numerous fan made sketches, words of adoration and innumerable calls”.

When asked how much has his routine changed after the show’s 3rd season, he said, “My routine has been just the same. What brought me here was the everyday work that went in and a generous amount of luck. The milestone of Mirzapur is behind me now. Presently, I have utmost gratitude and lots of zeal to jump into the next story in a big way. The faster I empty myself, the sooner I will be ready for the next one”.

The actor also spoke about his working with acting coach Atul Mongia, who is considered to be the best in the business.

Pallav told IANS that Atul ends up opening a lot of knots of one’s personality, which propels the actor fully towards the performance.

He said, “His work is centred around the ‘self’ of the actor, and by the virtue of his experience , he can answer the doubts in the most concise and effective way. He was my first director of the cinematic medium, and I am blessed to have worked with The Best. For my upcoming release, ‘Superboys of Malegaon’, he was the acting coach.

“I realised he was the glue which helped the cast bind together with the material and also with each other. Given a chance, I would prepare every role with Atul Mongia. The space he creates is completely devoid of judgements in which one can be free to fail and flourish”, he added.

The actor said, “It was originally announced as a film, and when I was first approached for this project, it was supposed to be a web series. However, after the edit and shoot, they liked it so much that they announced it as a theatrical release. Now, they've decided to go back to the original idea of a web series. I’m excited about it because this is my first major lead role in a web show.”

“I believe web series often reach a wider audience since people have more opportunities to watch at their convenience. Both formats have their pros and cons, but I’m eager to see myself in this role and hope the audience enjoys my character. I remember one schedule where we shot for 36 hours straight, back-to-back. It was an intense yet memorable experience, and I’m looking forward to the release,” he added. Talking about his character, he shared, “It’s a romantic thriller murder mystery. I can't reveal too much about the role because my character is a surprise package in the series. It's a very layered role where I get to explore romantic, dark, and positive sides. I had a great time playing Vijay.”

What is the USP of the series? “The USP of the series is the numerous twists and turns that will keep the audience hooked. We've also shot in some very interesting locations, which adds to the appeal,” he said. Anuj approaches any new project with its director’s vision. He said, “I am fully committed to what the director wanted to achieve. I delved into the character’s background and the psychological aspects of the role, understanding what had happened to him in the past.”I also work on the physicality of the character. All these elements are crucial in bringing the character to life in the way the director has envisioned,” he added.

The actor also agreed that there is intense competition on the OTT platforms. But he added, “I just feel that if your performance, story, and overall product are strong, people will appreciate it. I always felt that *Lamhe* was one of my all-time favorite films and a great movie, but it didn’t do well because it was ahead of its time. Today, if your product is good, it will get noticed, regardless of the competition.”

While many actors would refrain from ever admitting to getting anything done on their faces, actor Harsh Chhaya says that it was Botox injections that helped him look younger for his show Gyaarah Gyaarah. Reacting to claims of his getting Botox injections for a few scenes on the show, he says that it was to look younger as that was what the story required. Gyaarah Gyaarah has recently released on Zee5 to a very good repones. Based on the theme of time travel, the story shifts into two different time periods, 16 years apart, between 2001 and 2016. “It was just by chance that in my shooting schedule, the older part got shot first and the younger part was shot later. During that break, I was trying to figure if one could do something about the age gap, I tried with make up but it did not work then I thought may be I could try some Botox to get rid of the frown lines on the forehead and crow's feet around the eyes,” he says.

He adds, “I consulted a very reliable cosmetologist and understood how it works, I was told that the Botox will remove the frown lines and it's effect will slowly fade away in about two to three months, so that was a relief because I did not want to lose my frown lines forever.” He further adds that actors do try different things to try and work on characters both emotionally and physically. “I always enjoy this process it makes the experience more immersive and satisfying, it is also about what an actor gets to the table apart and over what is offered to him and this was one of my investments in the part for Gyaarah Gyaarah."
