Beginning as early as 4:00 AM, more than 10,000 runners from 25 cities participated across multiple race categories, making it a grand sporting spectacle.

The marathon was officially flagged off by Chhattisgarh Police IG Badrinarayan Meena, Income Tax Commissioner Shravan Meena, along with youth icon Rannvijay, whose presence added excitement to the event. The highlight of the festival will be the historic global resolution on March 7, when 10.8 million devotees across the world will simultaneously recite the Dadaguru Iktisa Paath. According to Organizing Committee Secretary Padam Tatia, the first Dadaguru, Acharya Shri Jindattsuri, is regarded as a great 11th-century spiritual leader. As per tradition, his last rites were performed in Ajmer on land granted by King Arnoraj. During the cremation, the miraculous event of the Chadar not burning became a symbol of divine grace and remains a center of deep faith for devotees.

Historical records state that about one and a half centuries ago, the Maharawal of Jaisalmer brought this Chadar from Anhilpur Patan to mitigate a devastating epidemic. Currently, the sacred Chadar is preserved at Shri Jinbhadra Suri Gyan Bhandar inside Jaisalmer Fort. The Chadar Mahotsav is organized based on this revered tradition.

Eminent Acharyas, Jain Sadhus and Sadhvis, and subject experts will be present during the Sangoshthi.

The numbers matter. Across 12 Zilla Parishads in the recently concluded polls, Congress managed to secure 59 seats statewide. Of these, a remarkable 23 came from Latur alone—making it the single largest contributor to the party’s tally. This wasn’t a narrow escape or a fragmented mandate; it was dominance. Add to that the Congress victory in the Latur Municipal Corporation, and you have a contiguous governance base—rural and urban—under one political command. In today’s politics, that kind of coherence is rare.

What makes Latur different? The easy answer is legacy—and legacy does matter. The shadow of Vilasrao Deshmukh still looms large over the district. For many voters, his tenure represented stability, dignity, and development delivered without noise. But to reduce Latur’s success to nostalgia alone would be lazy analysis. Legacy opened the door; organisation walked through it.

The current generation of leadership—most visibly Amit Deshmukh and Dhiraj Deshmukh—has translated inherited goodwill into modern political machinery. Booth-level discipline, early candidate finalisation, local issue ownership, and constant voter contact were not accidental choices; they were strategic decisions. While elsewhere the Congress often appeared episodic and reactive, in Latur it was present, predictable, and grounded.

 There is a deeper economic foundation to this political durability—rooted in the     cooperative revolution that Congress initiated 30–40 years ago. In Latur, that vision continues to take shape through the leadership of the Deshmukh family across two generations.

Institutions like the Manjara Shetkari Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana and the Latur District Central Cooperative Bank reflect this legacy. Under the stewardship of the Deshmukhs, they sustain a rural circular economy linking credit, cultivation, processing, and employment. Farmers receive crop loans, grow sugarcane, supply it to the cooperative factory, earn income, repay credit, and reinvest locally—ensuring economic value stays within the district.

This enduring cycle has built generational trust and economic interdependence. In Latur, Congress is embedded not just in memory, but in livelihood structures shaped and sustained by the Deshmukh family.

This is precisely why Latur should be read not as an exception but as a template.

First, Latur proves that local governance still wins elections. Control of the municipal corporation allowed the Congress to show visible work—on civic services, local infrastructure, and grievance redressal—before asking for votes again in the ZP elections. Voters responded not to slogans, but to familiarity and performance. For a party frequently accused of being abstract and disconnected, this is a crucial lesson: power at the bottom rebuilds credibility at the top.

Second, Latur demonstrates the value of clear leadership centres. One of the Congress’s chronic problems in Maharashtra has been diffused authority—too many voices, too little accountability. In Latur, the chain of command is unambiguous. Cadres know who leads, candidates know who backs them, and voters know who to credit—or blame. That clarity breeds confidence, internally and externally.

Third, the district shows that identity politics need not be polarising to be effective. Latur’s politics is rooted in regional pride and social coalitions without aggressive ideological posturing. The Congress here did not try to out-shout its rivals; it out-organised them. In an era of high-decibel campaigning, Latur’s quieter, relational approach is not just refreshing—it is electorally potent.

Critics will argue that Latur is unique, that the Deshmukh legacy cannot be replicated elsewhere. They are half right—and entirely wrong. Names cannot be cloned, but methods can. The Congress does not need another Vilasrao Deshmukh in every district; it needs empowered local leaders, protected organisational space, and the patience to let governance speak before elections do.

Can Latur alone revive the Congress in Maharashtra? No. But can Latur show the Congress how to revive itself? Absolutely.

If the party is serious about rebuilding, it must stop treating Latur as a sentimental outlier and start treating it as a case study. Replicate the municipal-to-ZP pipeline. Invest in district satraps instead of parachuting central faces. Measure success not in press conferences but in potholes filled and water lines fixed. Maharashtra does not lack Congress voters; it lacks Congress confidence. Latur shows how that confidence can be rebuilt—brick by brick, booth by booth.

In a state desperate for an alternative narrative, Latur is not just hope. It is instruction.

As a result, Rajasthan emerged among the leading states that achieved full compliance in all 23 priority areas identified by the Government of India. These reforms were systematically implemented, thereby creating a strong and efficient ecosystem that reinforced Ease of Doing Business. The regulatory framework was simplified and modernised, laying a robust foundation for the grounding and effective implementation of the Memoranda of Understanding signed during the Rising Rajasthan Investment Global Summit.

Rajasthan demonstrated its commitment to strengthening the Ease of Doing Business ecosystem by implementing several transformative reforms. To promote the MSME sector, the state amended Rule 90 to simplify the land conversion process in urban areas, reducing the timeline from 60 to 30 working days, after which automatic approval is granted. This has reduced project delays and accelerated the establishment of new enterprises.

In the field of pollution control, Rajasthan has made remarkable progress. For MSMEs, the timeline for Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO) was reduced from 120 days to 21 days, and for red/large category enterprises to 60 days. Additionally, the Pollution Control Board introduced system-generated auto-renewal of CTOs for units complying with environmental laws based on self-certification. Moreover, amendments to Water and Air Pollution Rules expanded the list of non-polluting White Category industries from 104 sectors to 877 sectors, exempting more non-polluting industries from regulatory requirements. This has accelerated project approvals and promoted industrial growth.

To reduce regulatory burden on micro-enterprises, the Rajasthan Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958, was amended to increase the employee limit from 0 to 10. Furthermore, to strengthen Ease of Doing Business and make establishments more convenient, the state issued an ordinance increasing permissible working hours under the Act. According to the ordinance, daily working hours were raised from 9 to 10, with a minimum 30-minute break after 6 hours of work, and the quarterly overtime limit was increased to 144 hours.

Additionally, the Rajasthan government amended Rule 100 of the Rajasthan Factory Rules, 1951, allowing women workers (except pregnant women and mothers) to work in all hazardous tasks, including 15 tasks previously prohibited for women.

Fire safety compliance was streamlined by introducing third-party fire inspections through empanelled agencies and extending the validity period of Fire NOC certificates, thereby reducing procedural delays while ensuring safety standards.

Rajasthan also became a leading state in rationalising minimum road width requirements for rural industries. Road width was fixed at 9 meters in areas with layout plans and 4.5 meters in areas without layout plans. The state implemented significant reforms to optimise land use in industrial and commercial areas. The Urban Development and Housing Department and RIICO amended building standards to ensure optimal land utilisation and rationalised parking norms. The earlier restriction of 50% ground coverage on commercial plots was removed, providing greater flexibility in urban planning.

In the field of urban development, the Rajasthan government issued the Transit-Oriented Development Policy, aimed at promoting compact, pedestrian-friendly, and transport-centric urban growth. This policy encourages high-density mixed-use development around metro corridors, BRTS, and major transportation routes, helping to reduce traffic congestion, control horizontal urban sprawl, increase public transportation usage, and build cleaner, more efficient cities.

In the area of decriminalisation, the state notified the Rajasthan Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Ordinance, 2025, amending provisions of 11 state laws to decriminalise minor offences. Under this ordinance, criminal provisions were replaced with monetary penalties, penalties were rationalised, and criminal proceedings were reduced, making it easier for citizens and businesses to operate.

To further strengthen investor facilitation, the state’s single-window system, RajNivesh, was empowered with an AI chatbot that integrates information from various departments to provide seamless and effective assistance to investors.

Through these comprehensive and visionary reforms, Rajasthan has reaffirmed its position among India’s leading states in compliance reduction, deregulation, and investor facilitation, highlighting its continued commitment to swift, transparent, and efficient governance.

Inaugural address by Dr. Shalini Kelkar (ADG, NCDs, MoHFW):

Dr. Kelkar emphasised that non-communicable diseases and mental health are development challenges shaped by social, economic, and environmental determinants. She highlighted India’s whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach through the National Multisectoral Action Plan (NMAP), campaigns such as Fit India, and integration of NCD and mental health services into Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) under Ayushman Bharat.

She underscored the importance of early detection of diabetic complications like retinopathy and strengthening telemedicine and community-based screening through the National NCD Portal and eSanjeevani. Dr. Kelkar reiterated that people living with NCDs must be at the centre of every solution and called for a patient-centric approach to achieving a sustainable, healthy future.

This workshop also highlighted the urgent and often overlooked burden of retinal complications among people with diabetes in India. While treatment options are available, they remain out of reach for many due to high out-of-pocket costs. People with diabetes already face the significant daily burden of insulin and other essential medications & adding preventable vision loss further impacts quality of life and livelihood. There is a pressing need for financial support mechanisms and active involvement from government health programmes to ensure equitable access to preventive eye screening and care.

As we mark World Diabetes Day on 14th November, Blue Circle Diabetes Foundation urges everyone to work together towards preventing avoidable vision loss and ensuring that no one loses sight to diabetes.

This was part of a national workshop series which began in Mumbai, followed by Hyderabad, Bengaluru & Delhi. Close to 10,000 young cyberspace enthusiasts participated in the Cyber Quest 2025 to build stronger systems for the nation using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

World’s first bamboo-based 2G bio-ethanol plant – Built at a cost of ₹5,000 crore, this state-of-the-art project was inaugurated by PM Modi. The survey paints a detailed description of how Indians perceive relationships and the challenges these have to face in order stay healthy and happy, including infidelity, and how the different generations have been shifting opinion and mindsets over the past few years. It revealed that 33% of the total respondents feel that work-life balance and lack of quality time with family is a major challenge that leads them towards infidelity. The millennials (42%) make up the major part of these respondents, who are interestingly also part of the current workforce, whereas GenX (27%) and GenZ (31%) respondents also provide major backing in this aspect.

Despite affirming to feel very happy and sexually satisfied in their current relationships, over half of the total respondents (51%), say that they lack any emotional connection with their partners, whereas 42% and 38% respectively highlight that lack of excitement & thrill, and physical intimacy is why they are indulging in infidelity. The GenX (55%) are the major voices who do not have any emotional connection with their partners, whereas 49% of GenZ say that they are not satisfied with the physical intimacy that they have currently. 54% of GenX respondents say that they frequently have thoughts of exploring connections beyond their relationships, with 44% of GenZ and 39% of millennials having the same opinion.

Furthermore, the survey also reveals that both men (43%) and women (42%) have not stopped there, and therefore engaged in either physical and emotional infidelity Out of them, GenX (52%) leads the charts in having been part of both emotional and physical infidelity, followed by GenZ (41%) and Millennials (36%). The studies also reveal that 62% of millennials are more receptive to understanding the reason behind infidelity before making any decisions, followed by GenZ (50%), instead of looking to end the relationship abruptly.

Additionally, the study shows that Indians today are more receptive towards using infidelity as a tool to stay emotionally fulfilled in a relationship. 58% of the respondents say that they are open to infidelity if it helped them stay emotionally fulfilled, whereas 45% are of the opinion that it could also reignite passion in stagnant marriages. Overall, a staggering 45% believe that infidelity can sometimes save a relationship, out of which 47% are married individuals. 50% of GenX respondents also reveal that humankind is not made for monogamy, with 41% of the GenZ and 37% of Millennials sharing the same opinion. 63% of GenX and Millennials also reiterated that societal pressure forces people to stay monogamous, while 59% of the GenZ share the same opinion.

But the most striking finding from this part of the research is that men and women share virtually identical views on the subject: 62% of women and 61% of men believe that humans are not wired for monogamy — a model ultimately imposed by centuries of ossified social norms.” Overall, 61% of the respondents agree on this aspect, highlighting societal pressure as a major decision-maker in Indians’ relationships.

Finally, 41% of the respondents revealed that they are receptive to their partners suggesting an open relationship, while 35% admitted that they are already part of one. 68% of the respondents also pointed towards social media as the major enabler of infidelity, citing that it offers more opportunities. 64% of the respondents also admitted that they flirt on social media platforms despite being in a relationship, out of which 49% of the GenX respondents say that they do it frequently.

The survey was conducted in May 2025 by IPSOS on behalf of Gleeden, with the objective of understanding how love and relationships are changing among GenX, Millennials and GenZ Indians, and how their opinions have shifted over the last years. The results have since indicated that more Indians are opening up towards the notion of infidelity as an enabler for emotional availability and happiness and are more receptive towards meeting new people.

Under the regulatory framework defined by the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations (TCCCPR), 2018, an entity can make commercial communications to a consumer irrespective of his/her Do Not Disturb (DND) preferences provided the entity has taken explicit consent from the consumer. However, in many cases, these consents were collected through offline or unverifiable means, making it extremely difficult to ascertain their validity and genuineness. In several instances, consumers report that their mobile numbers have been acquired by the entities for this purpose through misrepresentation, deception, or unauthorized data-sharing practices.

TRAI has undertaken several innovative regulatory measures in recent years to curb such practices. These include allowing consumers to register complaints against unregistered telemarketers (UTMs) even without prior DND registration, and initiating large-scale disconnection of telecom resources being misused by the entities for spamming activities. However, verification of consent for commercial communication citing offline consent of consumer, remains a formidable challenge.

To address the issue, the regulations provide for acquiring consent digitally by the entities and registering them in a secure and interoperable digital consent registry maintained by the Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) for easy verification of consents while commercial communication is made to the consumers. However, for successful operation of this consent registration framework, onboarding of entities sending commercial communications is a necessary requirement.

Accordingly, to begin the national roll-out, TRAI has launched a Pilot Project in coordination with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) involving select banks and has issued a Direction on 13^th June, 2025, to all the Telecom Service Providers, mandating them to pilot this framework in collaboration with banks. Given the sensitivity of banking transactions and cases of financial frauds through spam calls, the banking sector has been prioritized for the first phase of implementation. This Pilot, running under a Regulatory Sandbox framework, will validate the operational, technical, and regulatory aspects of the enhanced Consent Registration Function (CRF) and lay the foundation for sector-wise scaling of the digital consent ecosystem.

TRAI remains committed to safeguarding consumer interest and enhancing trust in legitimate commercial communications. The Authority will continue to work with sectoral regulators and stakeholders to ensure that the ecosystem evolves towards more secure, transparent, and consumer-centric practices.

Hapur, May 01, 2025 : In a joint operation conducted by the Hapur Police and the District Agriculture Department, a large cache of counterfeit agrochemical packaging was seized from a private residence in New Kasimpura, Hapur. The illegal stock included empty containers and wrappers falsely bearing the trademarks of several leading companies, including Dhanuka Agritech, Syngenta, FMC, Bayer CropScience, UPL, and Corteva.

The raid, initiated following a formal complaint by Premchandra Sharma, Assistant Manager at True Buddy Consulting Pvt. Ltd., acting on behalf of the affected companies, uncovered three rooms filled with duplicate materials intended for the sale of spurious agrochemical products. Preliminary investigations revealed that the premises were rented without proper documentation.

It has also come to light that in New Kasimpura, empty packaging and wrappers from products of several agri-input companies were being misused to sell counterfeit products. Upon receiving this information, the District Agriculture Officer was immediately alerted, and a team was promptly formed to conduct a raid. The operation was carried out by Sub-Inspector Jitendra Kumar from Hapur Nagar Police Station.

Authorities have registered a case under the relevant sections of the Copyright Act 1957 and Trademark Act 1999, and further legal proceedings are underway. The companies involved urge farmers and retailers to purchase only from authorised distributors and report any suspicious products.

What is AIS-140 VLT Device?

It’s Made in India, Vehicle Location Tracking Device & Emergency Panic Button, which works on GAGAN Satellite Constellation for triangulation of location by sending the data to the embedded IRNSS Chipset, attached to the vehicle ignition.

This device sends location coordinates, speed, time and panic alerts data to Government Command centers every 30 seconds via Dual Sim (BSNL + Airtel) embedded on the device.

The command centers with the received information from the AIS-140 device would take further actions to inform Local Police, Ambulance System, Fire Station etc.  

How Has Karnataka Implemented ?

With the state's vision to reduce accidents and thefts in Karnataka, and with participation from the RTO, Transport Ministry, and Police Department, it was decided to implement the AIS-140 in phases, starting from March 2024, as per the Guidelines mentioned in TD 57 TDO 2019.

In December 2023, the Ministry called a tender for Hardware manufacturers and Cloud technology service hardware.

13 Indian hardware manufacturers were empanelled and CDAC was awarded a tender to maintain the data and setup command center for the next five years.

The RTO department made the AIS-140 VLT device fitment compulsory process to get the fitness certificate. To ensure scalability and transparency, RTO provided Suraksha Mitra Mobile Application to MVI (Motor Vehicle Inspectors) across all RTOs to verify the device and panic button workability.

Once approved by MVI, AIS-140 Approved Suraksha Mitra and VLTD Certificates are downloaded from Suraksha and VAHAN portal respectively and submitted to the RTO by the vehicle owners to get the fitness certification.

Current Scenario

As of 31st December 2024, over 40,000 vehicles have been fitted with AIS-140 devices. The centralized CDAC centre is set up at the RTO Commissioner Building on Double Road. Over 25 agents monitor operations 24/7, managing panic button alerts in real-time. The system has saved nearly 10 lives through panic alerts received from devices and can prevent thousands of accidents by tracking and alerting drivers about their driving behavior.

Hyderabad, 13th January 2025: CARE Hospitals, one of India’s leading healthcare providers, successfully treated a rare and life-threatening carotid artery dissection in a 29-year-old patient through a groundbreaking 20-minute procedure. A CT-Scan followed by Thrombolysis was initiated promptly, completing the procedure within 20 minutes. The patient was thrombolysed (clot lysing agent) to restore proper blood flow and he started showing improvement within next 2-3 hours. Treatment with thrombolytic therapy resulted in complete resolution within 24 hours.

Chandigarh : In a significant achievement for the agricultural sector of Haryana, the state has successfully implemented Direct Sown Rice (DSR) cultivation across 1015 acres using herbicide-tolerant (HT) Basmati rice varieties. This initiative, developed by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) and distributed through Nuziveedu Seeds’ premier seed brands, PB-1985 Goldstar HT and PB-1979 Superstar HT, has brought remarkable benefits to the farming community.

The adoption of HT Basmati rice under the DSR method has enabled Haryana’s farmers to achieve higher grain yields, with an increase of 1.5 to 2 quintals per acre compared to traditional methods. Farmers also experienced significant cost savings of approximately Rs 5000 per acre, along with a substantial Rs 4,000 bonus provided by the Government of Haryana. Moreover, this method contributed to crucial water conservation and reduced the time needed for cultivation, aligning with sustainable agricultural practices.

Key Project Highlights:

This initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Government of Haryana, the Department of Agriculture, Nuziveedu Seeds Limited, Hisar Agriculture University, supported by the Centre of Excellence for Agriculture Skills in India and Varaha Ag, a carbon withdrawal company. (New Delhi) Namdhari Sikhs, being a Sikh sect; have requested the Government of India to honour Nation Saviour, Sikh Prime Minister, Sardar Manmohan Singh with “Bharat Ratan”. In press conference, organized at Constitutional Club, New Delhi: Namdhari Sikhs said "S. Manmohan Singh g will be the first Kesdhari-Sikh (Sikh with hairs), to be awarded with “Bharat Ratan” (although hairless can also be Sikhs). Therefore, he must be honored with Bharat Ratan".

Ranbir Singh said; With the grace of Satguru Ram Singh Ji and by the instructions of our present Guru; Thakur Dalip Singh Ji, we Namdhari Sikhs have written several letters to the government in this respect.

S. Manmohan Singh Ji was awarded "Padam Vibhushan" In 1987 by Government of India for his services to the nation. He was honored with “Order of King Abdulaziz” by Saudi Arabia in 2010 and “Order of the Paulownia Flowers” by Japan in 2014.

Namdhari Sikhs have highlighted several great achievements of S. Manmohan Singh Ji, which makes him a real deserving person for "Bharat Ratan". To create friendly relations between India, Brazil and South Africa, Dr. Manmohan Singh, established I.B.S.A. (India, Brazil, South Africa) Dialogue Forum. In 2005, the MNREGA Act was passed, which ensured economic security of poor families. Similarly, to deal with crimes committed against the security & sovereignty of India; he established the National Investigation Agency (N.I.A.) in 2008. "Peace Pipeline Project" was initiated in 2009, to connect Indian subcontinent with Iran's gas resources. In 2013, “National Health Mission” was launched to improve maternal and child health. These initiatives strengthened Bharat's internal policies and enhanced India's position at the international level.

Lakhwinder Singh said that B.J.P. government has made it clear that B.J.P. respect the great personalities of India by rising above party politics. It has honoured previous Prime Ministers ‘Narasimha Rao’ and ‘Chaudhary Charan Singh’ with “Bharat Ratan”; despite being Prime Ministers of opposition parties. In the same way, S. Manmohan Singh should be honored by B.J.P. with “Bharat Ratan”. He also said "as all B.J.P. members and B.J.P. dignitaries of government: have devotion for Sikhs Guru Ji. If B.J.P. The program is structured into three comprehensive modules. BMC's advocate, Poornima Kantharia, asserted the authority to address encroachments on private land.Justice Chavan pointed to a potential larger conspiracy, urging investigations into all involved parties. The petitioners were represented by advocates Ghanshyam Upadhyay, Swaraj Jadhav, and Mubarakka Lokhandwala.

However the judges were of the view that on account of counter versions, a separate FIR needs to be registered on the basis of complaint filed by the petitioner

The State Government informed the Bombay High Court that an FIR will be filed regarding the June 6 demolitions at Jai Bhim Nagar in Powai, as a cognizable offense appears to have taken place, according to findings from a special investigation team (SIT). Public prosecutor Hiten Venegavkar indicated that the Powai police would initiate the FIR and subsequently transfer it to the SIT for further action.

The petition, submitted by 36 residents including Meena Limbole, sought legal action against BMC officials and the developer under various sections of the IPC and the SC/ST Act, citing police brutality during the demolition that rendered 650 families homeless. On August 9, the High Court had established an SIT to investigate these claims.

The SIT’s report revealed that the BMC conducted the demolition without proper authorization from the SHRC. While Venegavkar stated that the FIR would be based on the SIT’s findings, advocates Ghanshyam Upadhyay and Mubarakka Lokhandwala maintained that it should specifically reference Limbole's detailed complaint. Senior advocate Shirish Gupte expressed concerns about the legality of filing a second FIR for the same incident, but the judges noted that second FIR is permissible in law if there are counter or cross versions.

They also requested a progress report by November 18.

Andhra Pradesh : The recent comments made by Pawan Kalyan, the founder of the Jana Sena Party, have caused a stir among the political landscape in Andhra Pradesh. Chaitanya Reddy, leader of the Kissan Congress Committee (AICC), has strongly condemned Kalyan's remarks regarding Rahul Gandhi, Opposition leader in the parliament.

Chaitanya stated, "Pawan Kalyan has no right to comment on Rahul Gandhi, who is a strong devotee of Hindu gods and all other religious gods. Rahul Ji's criticism of the BJP and Prime Minister Modi regarding the Ayodhya issue was a factual assessment, as evident from the BJP's failure in the matter." Chaitanya also urged Pawan Kalyan to tell the people what reforms he has made to secure forests and protect wild animals in order to save the environment.

Kalyan's recent attempt to use the Tirumala Laddu issue as a political ploy to sway voters ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections has been widely criticized. Chaitanya labeled this move as a "big drama" aimed at diverting public attention from the Andhra Pradesh government's failure to fulfill its promises, particularly in the aftermath of the devastating floods.

"The government has failed to provide a clear account of the damages and losses caused by the floods. We don't know how many people died, how many were injured, how much crop damage occurred, or how many cattle were lost. The government has also not disclosed the full extent of its relief efforts and the number of beneficiaries," Chaitanya said.

Chaitanya further emphasized that Kalyan's comments on Rahul Gandhi were unwarranted, as the Congress leader has always stood for the rights of all religious communities, including Hindus. He urged Kalyan to withdraw his remarks and instead focus on addressing the pressing issues faced by the people of Andhra Pradesh.

According to the press release, the Andhra Pradesh government has failed to provide comprehensive data on the impact of the recent floods, with no clear information on the number of casualties, injuries, crop damage, or livestock losses. The government's relief efforts and the number of affected citizens who have received aid also remain unclear.

Chaitanya called on Pawan Kalyan to prioritize the state's development and address the concerns of the people, rather than engaging in divisive politics. Assam, September 09, 2024 : The Assam Pradesh Kissan Congress and its Co-in-charge Sathi Krishna Chaitanya Reddy, Joint Coordinator of All India Kissan Congress, have demanded the imposition of President's Rule in Assam due to the very serious law and order situation in the state and the gross violations of the provisions of the Constitution of India by Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, the Chief Minister of Assam.

In a meeting held today, the Assam Pradesh Kissan Congress representatives highlighted several concerning incidents and actions by the Chief Minister that have created a climate of fear and unrest in the state.

Recently, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma, in an executive meeting of the Assam State BJP, claimed himself to be a "mad dog." As per the provisions of the Indian Constitution, a person of unsound mind is disqualified from holding any constitutional post.

Over the past two years, Dr. Sharma has made a series of hate-filled and provocative statements, even in the Assam Assembly, targeting a particular religious community, namely the Muslim community. One year ago, he had incited the youth to evict people belonging to the Muslim minority community from Guwahati, who were earning their livelihood as vegetable vendors, rickshaw pullers, private drivers, and laborers in the construction and other sectors.

The Guwahati High Court had recently reprimanded the Assam Government for using bulldozers to demolish the houses of Muslim families in Batadrava, Nagaon District, and directed the government to pay compensation to the affected families. Despite this, Dr. Sharma has continued to make provocative statements against the Muslim community, and has carried out eviction drives in several places inhabited by the Muslim population, further fueling hatred.

The Kissan Congress representatives also highlighted the instances of corruption involving Dr. Sharma, his wife, and children, with their illegal property holdings across the country and abroad being exposed by various media outlets in Assam.

Additionally, the law and order situation in Assam has deteriorated to an alarming level, with the highest number of police encounters and deaths in the country, as per the reports placed by the government in parliament. Killings, dacoity, rape, and murder have become a regular occurrence under Dr. Sharma's rule.

Mumbai : The Bombay High Court has recently quashed an FIR following a settlement reached between the parties involved, marking a significant moment for justice in a complicated case. The respondents’ advocate, Mubarakka Lokhandwala, along with Adv Vijay Jha, successfully argued for the dismissal of the FIR, citing the agreed-upon compensation of ₹4.5 crore received by their client, Ms. Meena Tawrani.

The case initially involved allegations of cheating, where five individuals were remanded to judicial custody for failing to deliver a flat that Ms.  Tawrani had purchased for ₹1 crore. This situation not only caused financial distress but also emotional turmoil for the elderly widow, raising broader concerns about the treatment of vulnerable individuals in the legal system.

Ms. Tawrani's lawyer, Ghanshyam Upadhyay, expressed serious concerns regarding the investigation process, claiming that the investigation officer (IO) may have acted in collusion with the accused. He pointed out, "Usually, police custody is sought during the second remand. However, in this case, the police asked for judicial custody, which is shocking." 

The High Court’s decision to quash the FIR highlights the effectiveness of settlements in resolving civil disputes and underscores the importance of ensuring fair treatment for all individuals within the legal framework. According to media reports Jayesh Desai revealed that Despite his efforts to shoo away the dog with his slipper and later with a stick obtained from the society guard, the situation escalated. In a significant move aimed at bolstering the cooperative sector and uplifting farmers across India, the Central Government, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is set to enhance the scope of Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS).

In order to address the shortage of food grain storage capacity in the country, the Government has approved the “World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan in Cooperative Sector”, which is being rolled out as a Pilot Project in different states/UTs of the country.

The Plan entails creation of various agri infrastructure at PACS level, including setting up decentralized godowns, custom hiring center, processing units, Fair Price Shops, etc. through convergence of various existing schemes of the Government of India (GoI), such as, Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure Scheme (AMI), Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME), etc. Under these schemes, PACS can avail subsidies and interest subvention benefits for construction of godowns/storage facilities and setting up of other agri infrastructure. Further, NABARD is also extending financial support to PACS by refinancing them at highly subsidized rates. Therefore, the plan aims to strengthen the economic condition of PACS by diversifying their business activities and giving them additional sources of revenue thus improving their financial sustainability.
