Tata Punch to Feature Standard Digital Instrument Cluster Across All Variants

Tata Motors is set to enhance its popular compact SUV, the Tata Punch, with a significant upgrade for its introduction to the Indian market. Recent spy photos have revealed the Tata Punch sporting a digital instrument cluster, and in a strategic move, the company plans to make this feature standard across all variants of the compact SUV. The standard configuration for the entry-level variants will include a 4-inch digital panel displaying essential information such as speed, time, odometer, trip meter, and warning lights, mirroring the details captured in the spy photos.

The digital instrument cluster utilized in the Tata Punch will also be integrated into other models, including the Tata Tiago, Tigor, and the entry-level Nexon. Notably, the top-tier Creative variant of the Punch will feature a semi-digital instrument cluster, reminiscent of the upscale clusters seen in the Harrier and Safari models from the previous year.

Tata Motors aims to position the Punch competitively in the small SUV segment, aligning with offerings like the Hyundai Exter. This drive towards enhanced features, particularly the standard inclusion of a digital instrument cluster across all Punch models, may result in a potential price increase for the compact SUV.

Key Details about Tata Punch:

The Tata Punch is currently available in four variants: Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative, with pricing ranging from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Powering the Punch is a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine generating 114 Nm of torque and 84 horsepower. The engine can be paired with either a 5-speed AMT gearbox or a 5-speed manual transmission. Additionally, the Tata Punch is offered in the Indian market with a CNG variant, featuring 76 horsepower and 97 Nm of torque, exclusively available with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
