San Jose, Calif., United States: In a strategic move to propel their success to new heights, the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team and NetApp® (NASDAQ: NTAP) have officially renewed their partnership. NetApp is now designated as the Global Data Infrastructure Partner for the team, solidifying their collaboration that began in 2021 after a hiatus of more than 60 years from Formula One® racing. This renewal marks the continuation of a fruitful three-year partnership that has empowered the team to leverage NetApp's storage technology, enabling instant storage, management, and access to vast amounts of data crucial for optimizing race performance.
Data holds the key to success in Formula One®, providing drivers and support teams with insights to make informed decisions for optimal race performance. The Aston Martin Aramco team, in particular, relies on data-driven simulations to predict and respond to various race scenarios, such as changing weather conditions or unplanned pit stops. NetApp's storage technology plays a pivotal role in collecting and managing real-time performance statistics from hundreds of sensors during each race. This data, accessible both trackside and at the team's AMR Technology Campus, allows the team to adapt its race strategy in real-time, a crucial factor in a sport where milliseconds matter.
Clare Lansley, CIO of Aston Martin Aramco, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership renewal, stating, "NetApp has been with us all the way on this journey together and is fundamental to our trackside operations and at our Headquarters at the AMRTC in Silverstone. We use data to improve our performance and go faster, and NetApp’s work with the team is vital to this success."
